The John Homer Miller Award is presented to a first-year or sophomore student who has demonstrated leadership early in his or her college career. John Homer Miller served as Acting President of American International College from 1948-1950. The Ingenuity Award is given to a student who has shown a high level of creativity, uniqueness, and ingenuity in his or her design and delivery of programs.

The Naomi White-Inniss Award at American International College is presented to a student who has triumphed over adversity, worked to bring the American International College community together, and exhibited the leadership qualities of Naomi White-Inniss, who served 40 years as Director of Multicultural Affairs.

American International College (AIC) student Devonte' Dillion of Windsor, CT has been awarded a 12 week paid internship at WWLP-22News from the Massachusetts Broadcasters Association. Dillion was selected among dozens of students applying for the position, offered to an enrolled college journalism student in or entering junior or senior year.

Brian O'Shaughnessey, vice president for student affairs, said the ceremony is special to the students because it recognizes their involvement in campus life not only by faculty and administrators, but by their peers, as well. Campus involvement is a very important part of the college experience," O'Shaughnessey told the audience, "and we are very proud of these students who were able to balance school work with clubs and other activities. They have made the AIC campus a better place," he said.

American International College awarded nearly 1,100 undergraduate and graduate degrees at its 2013 Commencement Ceremnony.. Some 300 undergraduate and 790 graduate degrees were awarded to students representing 11 foreign countries and 19 U.S. states. The ceremony took place May 19 at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass.

More than 500 new students began classes at American International College in Springfield, Mass. on September 5, following a two-day orientation program.

Students from as far away as California and as old as 62 years of age were among those receiving degrees at the 2012 Commencement Ceremony of American International College in Springfield, Mass., on Sunday, May 20. More than 330 undergraduate degrees and some 850 graduate diplomas were awarded, including the first degrees in the college's Doctor of Education program. Michael Polt, U.S. Ambassador to Estonia, and Frank Colaccino, CEO of the Colvest Group, were the speakers and received honorary degrees during the ceremony.
