The Harry S. Levitan Award is presented to an AIC student who displays alumnus Harry Levitan's admirable personal qualities of courage, integrity, honor, respect, loyalty, duty, and service to American International College. Who's Who is awarded to juniors or seniors who have demonstrated personal growth through sustained leadership in clubs, organizations, athletics and/or in the community while serving as a positive role model both inside and outside of the classroom.

The Naomi White-Inniss Award is presented to a student who has triumphed over adversity, worked to bring the AIC community together, and exhibited the leadership qualities of Naomi White-Inniss, who served 40 years as Director of Multicultural Affairs. The Henrietta Littlefield Award honors a woman in the senior class who best demonstrates the leadership qualities and commitment to cocurricular student life as exemplified by Henrietta Littlefield, professor, and first Director of Student Activities at American International College. Who's Who is presented to juniors or seniors who have demonstrated personal growth through sustained leadership in clubs, organizations, athletics and/or in the community while serving as a positive role model in and out of the classroom.

John Homer Miller Emerging Leadership Award
Awarded to a first-year or sophomore student who has demonstrated leadership early in his or her college career. John Homer Miller served as Acting President of American International College from 1948-1950. Under his young, but visionary leadership, the College acquired the Reed Estate (now the Edgewood Gardens Campus) and provided the needed resources for organized and structured student activities and leadership development.

Dillion was selected among dozens of students applying for the position, offered to an enrolled college journalism student in or entering junior or senior year.

Balancing work, family and college can be a tough challenge, but for nine American International College students, the challenge has not been insurmountable. The students were recognized for their efforts recently as they were inducted into the Omicron Chapter of the Alpha Sigma Lambda Honor Society during a ceremony in the West Wing of the Karen Sprague Cultural Arts Center.

More than 150 student-athletes were recognized for their academic achievement during a ceremony at American International College in Springfield, Mass. The students were inducted into the 3.0 Club during a ceremony in the Griswold Theatre.
The 3.0 club honors student-athletes who have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better after at least one year of enrollment at American International College.

Brian O'Shaughnessey, vice president for student affairs, said the ceremony is special to the students because it recognizes their involvement in campus life not only by faculty and administrators, but by their peers, as well. Campus involvement is a very important part of the college experience," O'Shaughnessey told the audience, "and we are very proud of these students who were able to balance school work with clubs and other activities. They have made the AIC campus a better place," he said.
