The Chester S. McGown Award at American International College is given to a senior who demonstrates consistency in leadership as provided by Chester S. McGown through his 35-year presidency that spanned a period of enormous change through two World Wars and the intervening Great Depression.

The Henrietta Littlefield Award at American International College is given to woman in the senior class who best demonstrates the leadership qualities and commitment to co-curricular student life as exemplified by Henrietta Littlefield, professor, and first director of student activities at AIC.

The Harry S. Levitan Award at American International College (AIC) was established in 2002 by Dr. Joseph J. Levitan in memory of his brother Harry S. Levitan, class of 1943. Harry Levitan pursued a rewarding career in education, helping others to achieve their dreams. This award is presented to an AIC student who displays Harry Levitan's admirable personal qualities of courage, integrity, honor, respect, loyalty, duty, and service to AIC.

The Naomi White-Inniss Social Justice Award is presented to an American International College student who has triumphed over adversity, worked to bring the AIC community together, and exhibited the leadership qualities of Naomi White-Inniss, who served 40 years as director of mulitcultural affairs.

The Volunteer of the Year Award is given to an American International College student who has worked in a volunteer capacity in a consistent and selfless manner.

Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities is awarded to juniors or seniors who have demonstrated personal growth through sustained leadership in clubs, organizations, athletics, and/or in the community while serving as positive role models both inside and outside the classroom.

The Distinguished Service Award is given to a student, not necessarily in a leadership position, who has demonstrated loyalty and commitment to the enhancement of student life.

The Ingenuity Award is given to students who have shown a high level of creativity, uniqueness, and ingenuity in the design and delivery of programs.

The Student Life Recognition Award is given to students who have directly impacted the improvement of an existing program, the intitiation of a new program, or the forming of a new organization.

The John Homer Miller Emerging Leadership Award is given to first-year or sophomore students who have demonstrated leadership early in their college career. John Homer Miller served as Acting President of American International College from 1948-1950. Under his young, but visionary leadership, the College acquired Reed Estate (now Edgewood Gardens Campus) and provided the needed resources for organized and structured student activities and leadership development programs.

American International College (AIC) graduate Rebecca Gray, class of 2017, won first place and a $500 cash prize at Springfield Technical Community College's (STCC) recent Shark Tank competition. Gray was one of seven, two-minute pitches made to a panel of four judges from the local business community. Gray's idea for her company, Coastline Industries, focused on efficient, eco-friendly, and renewable energy in the form of underwater turbines.

Rahway, NJ native Jeremy Antivo barely had his diploma in hand from American International College (AIC) in May when he began an internship with the Spirit of Springfield, a private, non-profit corporation that produces high-quality, large-scale events in the city of Springfield. Cambridge, MA native Sierra Naughton, a Liberal Studies major at American International College, was honored at the College's Division of Student Affairs' Co-curricular Leadership and Involvement Awards ceremony on April 21.
