John Homer Miller Emerging Leadership Award
The John Homer Miller Emerging Leadership Award is given to first-year or sophomore students who have demonstrated leadership early in their college career. John Homer Miller served as Acting President of American International College from 1948-1950. Under his young, but visionary leadership, the College acquired Reed Estate (now Edgewood Gardens Campus) and provided the needed resources for organized and structured student activities and leadership development programs.

American International College Student Jumps into Shark Tank and Wins!
American International College (AIC) graduate Rebecca Gray, class of 2017, won first place and a $500 cash prize at Springfield Technical Community College's (STCC) recent Shark Tank competition. Gray was one of seven, two-minute pitches made to a panel of four judges from the local business community. Gray's idea for her company, Coastline Industries, focused on efficient, eco-friendly, and renewable energy in the form of underwater turbines.

AIC Student Mitchell Byrne Named to NE-10 Men's Track & Field Academic All-Conference Team
American International College sophomore Mitchell Byrne (Dublin, Ireland) was selected to the Northeast-10 Men's Track and Field Academic All-Conference team announced by the league office on April 6. The 2015 NE-10 Cross Country Sport Excellence Award winner has acquired a cumulative grade point average of 3.83 in business. Byrne helped lead AIC to consecutive conference crowns with a third place finish in the mile run (4:18.07). He set a new personal best in the mile at the Boston University Last Chance meet with a time in 4:10.23. Byrne was a part of the school record holding distance medley relay team that went 9:47.22 at the New England Championships. He was tabbed a four-time US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) East All-Region recipient in the mile, 3k, 5k and DMR.

Dana Bramble Named USTFCCCA East Region Women's Field Athlete of the Year
Dana Bramble of East Hartford, CT was named the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) East Region Women's Field Athlete of the Year. Dana is a sophomore and chemistry major at American International College. Just prior to this recognition, Dana came in first at the New England Championship Long Jump held at Boston University, leaping 5.85 meters (19 feet, 2.5 inches) on her first attempt for the win.

American International College Student Antwan Bluster On Spring Break With A Political Purpose
During his Spring Break from American International College, Antwan Bluster from Sauk Village, IL had the opportunity to travel to Washington D.C. to hear members of the GOP primary speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC). Antwan is a junior and international business major at American International College and traveled along with fellow members of POWER, a non-partisan political activism organization on campus, whose mission is to raise awareness regarding current issues and get students thinking about politics.
