The Alumni Award
Eighteen student-athletes were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the success of the American International College (AIC) Department of Athletics at the 2023-24 Athletics Awards Night held in the Butova Gymnasium on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. The Alumni Award, presented to the male and female senior-student athletes "who excel in academic scholarship and athletic achievement," was presented by Head Men's Soccer Coach Jake Durham '20, '22 MBA. Briana Lee of women's basketball and Lucas Morales-Fernandez of men's soccer were the winners. Lee was a WBCA All-American in 2023-24 for AIC and was among the NE10 leaders in scoring, rebounding, and steals, while Morales-Fernandez rewrote the record books for the men's soccer team in three full seasons as the team's starting keeper, including shutting out eventual national champion Franklin Pierce University for 110 minutes in the NE10 Quarterfinal to break the Ravens' winning streak that had lasted over a year.

Rookie of the Year
A total of eighteen student-athletes were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the success of the American International College (AIC) Department of Athletics at the 2023-24 Athletics Awards Night held in the Butova Gymnasium on Wednesday, April 24. Two student-athletes were chosen as recipients of a new departmental award, "Rex's Rookie of the Year" named for AIC mascot Rex the Yellow Jacket. This award honored the male and female students who have made the biggest impact in their first season of collegiate competition. Head Football Coach Lou Conte, having just completed his own rookie campaign as the program's leader, presented the award to Ries Bower of men's lacrosse and Brooklyn Cividanes of softball. Bower set the AIC, Northeast-10 Conference, and NCAA Division II records for caused turnovers in a season with 58. Cividanes, at the time of the awards ceremony, was second in the Northeast-10 Conference among all players with a .515 on-base percentage.

Play of the Year
Eighteen student-athletes were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the success of the American International College (AIC) Department of Athletics at the 2023-24 Athletics Awards Night held in the Butova Gymnasium on Wednesday, April 24. AIC's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee presented several awards, including the Play of the Year. This award was selected via a vote by student-athletes on the AIC Athletics Instagram account; eight key plays were nominated, and the winner was the home-court clinching three-point shot hit by Tia-Marie Martinez for women's basketball against Saint Anselm College.

Induction into Pi Sigma Alpha Honor Society
Alyssa Kelleher of Worcester, Massachusetts, has been inducted into Pi Sigma Alpha - the national political science honor society. Ms. Kelleher graduated from American International College (AIC) in May 2024, with a bachelor of arts in political science. According to the organization, Pi Sigma Alpha hosts chapters on nearly 850 campuses and has inducted more than 300,000 members. Its rolls feature national, state, and local political leaders including one president, three Supreme Court justices, and dozens of members of Congress. Each year those who have achieved academic excellence are inducted and display the same passion for politics and policy.

AIC Students Inducted into Psychology Honor Society
Eighteen AIC students have been inducted into Psi Chi, the International Honor Society of Psychology. The induction ceremony was held in the AIC Campus Center on November 30, 2023. The College recently reinstituted its chapter of one of the largest honor societies in the country. Psi Chi was founded and 1929 with a mission to recognize and promote excellence in the science and application of psychology. To be inducted into Psi Chi is an esteemed honor. Students must be in the top 35% of their class, have a major or minor in psychology, and have excelled in their psychology courses. Congratulations to these students, their professors, and chapter advisers.

AIC Students Inducted into Criminal Justice Honor Society
Five American International College (AIC) students have been recognized for their academic achievement on the national level with their induction into the Alpha Phi Sigma Alpha Phi Sigma; Alpha Delta chapter Criminal Justice Honor Society. Alpha Phi Sigma recognizes the academic excellence of students of Criminal Justice. It is the only Criminal Justice Honor Society, is a certified member of the Association of College Honor Societies, and is affiliated with the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences.

14 from AIC Field Hockey Earn NFHCA National Academic Squad
The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced the members of the 2023 Division II National Academic Squad on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. The American International College (AIC) field hockey team had 14 award winners, who are undergraduate student-athletes with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale through the end of the fall 2023 semester.

Athletic Director's 3.0 Club - Fall 2023
American International College congratulates its student-athletes who have been inducted into the Athletic Director's 3.0 Club for the Fall 2023 semester. AIC Athletics Director Jessica Chapin recognized more than three hundred student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better after one or more years enrolled at AIC. The primary objective for these students is to stand as academic role models, inspiring fellow student-athletes with their achievements and dedication!

AIC Field Hockey Leads Nation with 3.73 GPA to Earn NFHCA Team Academic Award; Five Named Scholars of Distinction
The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced the winners of its 2023 Scholars of Distinction and its 2023 NCAA Division II Team Academic Award on February 19, 2024. The American International College (AIC) field hockey team was well-represented in both, winning the Team Academic Award with a nation-best 3.73 grade point average during the fall 2023 semester, and five student-athletes earned Scholar of Distinction honors. Overall, 12 teams earned the NFHCA's Team Academic Award, which is given to each team that holds a cumulative team grade point average above 3.50 among its student-athletes for the fall semester, during which NCAA championship competition is held. AIC was the only NCAA Division II team above a 3.70 GPA as a team and was one of four Northeast-10 Conference programs honored. The Scholar of Distinction award is granted to undergraduate student-athletes who hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.90 or higher through the end of the most recent fall semester. AIC's five honorees were Mayra Bok, Mar Busqueta, Maddie Darling, Phaedra Day, and Fenna Voll. Day earned the award for the second time in as many seasons.

Theater Students Take Center Stage in Two-Person Production of Topdog/Underdog
Over a two-night run of Topdog/Underdog, fifty audience members each night were treated to an exceptional experience. The play was selected by the two sophomore actors - Denzel Chmiel and Khamari Hamblin - who dedicated three hours a day, three times a week to rehearsals. The unique setting, with the audience on stage surrounding the actors, created an intimate atmosphere that enhanced the impact of this remarkable presentation.
