The Student-Athlete of the Year Award is presented to the male and female student athlete for each class year that best exemplifies a well-rounded student-athlete. Brennan received the First Year Male Student-Athlete of the Year Award.

Chad Miller, of Spanishtown, Jamaica, received a Student-Athlete of the Year Award at American International College (AIC) at the College's Athletic Awards ceremony this spring. Chad, a biochemistry major, received the Third Year Male Student-Athlete of the Year Award.

Dolores, an international business major, received the Third Year Female Student-Athlete of the Year Award.

Jason, a business administration major, is a member of the baseball team.

Ivan Chepyegon, of Kapsabet, Kenya, was a recipient of the Milton J. Piepul Merit Medal at American International College's (AIC) Athletic Awards ceremony this spring. The Milton J. Piepul Merit Medal is given to a senior who combines excellence on the field with excellence in the classroom, including a 3.5 GPA or higher.

Piepul Merit Medal is given to a senior who combines excellence on the field with excellence in the classroom including maintaining a 3.5 GPA or higher.

Bryant Christian, of Moorhead, MN, received the Robert Burke Athletic Director's Award at American International College's (AIC) Athletic Awards ceremony this spring. The Robert Burke Athletic Director's award recognizes community service and outstanding perfomance or competitive improvement over an athletic career. Bryant, a member of the men's ice hockey team, is an accounting major.

Leakey Kipkosgei, of Nabori, Kenya, received the President's Cup from American International College (AIC) during the College's Athletic Awards ceremony this spring. The President's Cup is awarded to the student-athlete who has made a major contribution to the AIC athletic program during the academic year with outstanding ability, character, and sportsmanship.

American International College (AIC) student-athlete Joseph Pepe, of Selden, has signed with the Valley Blue Sox. The Valley Blue Sox is part of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL), which showcases high level baseball players at the college level. While the path to the majors is challenging, a percentage of players in the NECBL move on to the Big Leagues following graduation. The NECBL is one of the premier summer collegiate baseball leagues in the country. The League not only provides student-athletes opportunities to pursue their major league dreams, it provides fun and affordable family entertainment while team members serve as role models for youth in the surrounding communities. Joseph is a Sports Management major at AIC.

Linnea Herbertsson, of Boras, Sweden, received the Robert Burke Athletic Director's Award at American International College's (AIC) Athletic Awards ceremony this spring. The Robert Burke Athletic Director's award recognizes community service and outstanding perfomance or competitive improvement over an athletic career. Linnea, a member of the women's soccer team, is an accounting major.

Robert Hansen, of Roosevelt, NY, received the Robert Burke Athletic Director's Award at American International College's (AIC) Athletic Awards ceremony this spring. The Robert Burke Athletic Director's award recognizes community service and outstanding perfomance or competitive improvement over an athletic career. Robert, a member of the football team, is a criminal justice major.

Jamie Mainez, of Redlands, CA, received the Robert Burke Athletic Director's Award at American International College's (AIC) Athletic Awards ceremony this spring. The Robert Burke Athletic Director's award recognizes community service and outstanding perfomance or competitive improvement over an athletic career. Jamie, a member of the softball team, is a health science major.

Having just completed his sophomore year, James Flahive has joined the Onondaga Flames who play in the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL). James, of Longmeadow, MA, is a member of the American International College baseball team. James is off to a stunning start with the Flames. With 12 innings as a reliever, he has struck out 11. He also holds a .75 earned run average through six appearances. The Onondaga Flames play their home games at Onondaga Community College. Teams in the NYCBL play a 42-game schedule.

The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced its 2017-18 All-American members on Sunday March 19, 2018, with American International College junior forward Dana Watts earning honors from the organization. Watts, a Northeast-10 All-Conference first team member, was named an honorable mention. Watts averaged 20.4 points per game, which led the NE10. This marks the second straight year in which Watts has made the WBCA All-America team.

AIC women's track freshman Yasmine Graziani was named the NE10 Track Rookie of the Year. Yasmine was one of the top 800 meter runners in the region, earning All-East Region honors for the event with a season-best converted time of 2:12.63, in addition to an All-Region selection for the distance medley relay. She was additionally the NE10 Champion in the 800 meters, winning the event in a time of 2:14.16, and placed second with the distance medley relay and 4x800 meter relay teams.

Junior Alice Calabrese of the American International College women's tennis team has been appointed to the Northeast-10 Conference's official Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) council. The council, which was formally introduced on March 14, 2018, aims to receive information from appropriate sources and act on matters pertaining to the well-being of the student-athletes of the Northeast-10 Conference, according to a release from the NE10. The NE10 SAAC will also receive and discuss information regarding legislative and administrative matters affecting the well-being of student-athletes affiliated with the NE10, and convey judgment on these matters to the appropriate parties.

AIC women's track and field freshman Jessikha Ribeiro was selected as NE10 Field Rookie of the Year. Jessikha was All-Region in five events: the 60 meter hurdles, the distance medley relay, the high jump, the pentathlon and the long jump. She was named the NE10 Field Athlete of the Week twice and was also the Field Rookie of the Week two times.

Sophomore Matt Costanza of the AIC baseball team has been appointed to the Northeast-10 Conference's official Student-Athlete Advisory Committee council (SAAC). The council, which was formally introduced on March 14, aims to receive information from appropriate sources and to act on matters pertaining to the well-being of the student-athletes of the Northeast-10 Conference, according to a release from the NE10. The NE10 SAAC will also receive and discuss information regarding legislative and administrative matters affecting the well-being of student-athletes affiliated with the NE10, and convey judgment on these matters to the appropriate parties. "Being selected to be part of NE10 SAAC is a huge honor for me," Costanza said. "Knowing that I have the ability to make a difference to not only my school, but schools across the conference, is a big deal to me, and an opportunity I look forward to taking full advantage of."

Freshman goaltender Stefano Durante of the American International College ice hockey team was named to the 2017-18 Atlantic Hockey Conference All-Rookie Team.

Sophomore defenseman Janis Jaks of the American International College ice hockey team was named to the 2017-18 Atlantic Hockey All-Conference Third Team.

Junior Leakey Kipkosgei of the American International College men's indoor track and field team was named a First Team All-American at the at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships.
