Jaks Named to Atlantic Hockey All-Conference Third Team

Sophomore defenseman Janis Jaks of the American International College ice hockey team was named to the 2017-18 Atlantic Hockey All-Conference Third Team.

Jaks was AIC's second-leading scorer during the regular season with 19 points (seven goals and 12 assists). He had the most points of any European player in Atlantic Hockey. He added a goal and three assists in the postseason.

Jaks also anchored an improved defensive effort for the Yellow Jackets. He appeared in 32 of AIC's 34 contests on defense, helping AIC drop its opponents' shots-on-goal average from 31.6 shots on goal per game in 2016-17 to 26.8 this season. He added 30 blocked shots during the regular season.
