Dana Watts Receives the President's Cup from American International College

2017 Jul 21

Dana Watts of Rochester, NY, received the President's Cup from American International College (AIC) during the Athletic Awards ceremony this spring. The President's Cup is awarded to the student-athlete who has made a major contribution to the AIC athletic program during the academic year with outstanding ability, character, and sportsmanship.

A member of the AIC Women's Basketball team, Dana was a Northeast-10 First Team All-Conference member and a five-time NE10 Player of the Week. She reached the 1,000-point mark in February in her 61st career game, a commendable feat. Dana doubled her points per game and rebounds per game between her freshman and sophomore years. She led the East region with 22.6 points and 11.4 rebounds, totaling 18 double-doubles over the course of the season. Dana was recognized nationally for her success, being named a WBCA All-American Honorable Mention and a D2CCA All-American 2nd Team. Head Coach Kristen Hutchison said, "Dana had the best season of anyone I have coached throughout my 14 years at AIC. She is a tremendous player and an even better person."

Dana, a Nursing major, will enter her junior year at AIC in the fall.
