2013 Jun 26

Amoya Morris-Berry of Springfield was recognized for participation in campus activities recently at a ceremony in the Griswold Theatre. More than 75 students received awards at the Co-Curricular Awards night program, as students, parents, faculty and administrators gathered to honor the student leaders.

Morris-Berry, a Junior majoring in Biology Major (BS) received the Outstanding Sophomore Award.

Brian O'Shaughnessey, vice president for student affairs, said the ceremony is special to the students because it recognizes their involvement in campus life not only by faculty and administrators, but by their peers, as well. Campus involvement is a very important part of the college experience," O'Shaughnessey told the audience, "and we are very proud of these students who were able to balance school work with clubs and other activities. They have made the AIC campus a better place," he said.

American International College is a private, coeducational institution, founded in 1885 offering undergraduate and graduate programs in the schools of Business, Arts and Sciences, Health Sciences and Graduate and Adult Education.
